It was definitely worth waiting for the latest Mount & Blade series for 13 years. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord offers gamers everything they have been looking for over the years and brings a host of exciting innovations in modern graphics. It is a traditional RPG in the open gaming world that takes place 210 years before the events of the previous Mount & Blade game.
The story is set again in the Middle Ages, specifically on the continent of Calradia, and again the game is played by TaleWorlds Entertainment. It deals with the decline of the Calradic Empire, analogous to the fall of the Roman Empire. Armor, clothing, weapons and architecture are inspired by events and life in the Middle Ages from 600 to 1100 AD.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord again offers incredible and endless character creation possibilities. Players can customize the height, weight, overall appearance, add tattoos, accessories, and more. What is most important, however, is the creation of a family tree and the entire character history. In addition to this process, the game automatically generates the entire background of the character, which will then play a role in the progress of the game.
Traditionally, a huge sandbox world and a solo campaign will take hold where players embark on their own adventure across a vast country. Villages, towns, castles, forests, mountains, lowlands, bridges, rivers are all waiting for them here. In addition, the creators managed to capture the atmosphere of the period together with the feudal economy. Probably the biggest driving force is the classic battles in open spaces, in castles and squares. Players can choose different weapons, such as swords, shields, spears, bows, axes and so on. There is also horseback riding. Whether the characters decide to plunder a country with a few supporters, or set out to conquer territories, it's up to the players.
Combat system is maximally intuitive, but for newcomers will not harm the initial tutorial, where they become acquainted with the mechanics of combat. It is possible to play from the perspective of the first and third person. All the tools and engine on which the game is built are also available to the gaming community, which means one thing - new player content for players! There is also a multiplayer, where players measure strength with opponents from around the world. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is in Early Access yet, but it is fully playable and simply great.
