GIMP is a free bitmap graphics editor for creating and editing images. Its features are very similar to the commercial program Adobe Photoshop. Here we find classic graphic tools such as brush, pencil, pen, pipette or clone stamp. It has a variety of advanced image editing features, not unlike those in Photoshop. For example, it is the ability to edit images with layers that allow you to make extensive adjustments to the image, leaving the original image intact.
Furthermore, there is a wide variety of filters and effects that make the picture almost unrecognizable. Modern graphics filters can transform a normal photo in such a way that it can look like painted with a brush, oil, charcoal or pencil. GIMP also includes advanced selection techniques, such as approximate selection (magic wand), making image editing a lot easier.
For correct functionality of the program it is necessary to install GTK + environment, which is part of the installation file.
